Challenge

An ART SG opening night needed to speak to a demanding, design literate crowd, and do it in one night, invite only, with no second chance to get the tone right. We had to bring together collectors, gallerists, artists, Marina Bay Sands partners and cultural tastemakers under one roof, moving over a thousand guests through the night without the flow ever feeling congested, while working within Marquee, and reimagining it rather than simply dressing it up for the occasion.

Solution

Rather than build the night around a single set piece, we structured it as a journey guests would move through in stages. An immersive arrival gave the night its first impression, a series of interactive touchpoints invited exploration between the main spaces, hospitality was paced to match the crowd rather than interrupt it, and a live entertainment arc was built to steadily climb toward its peak. Each layer was designed to hand off to the next, keeping the night moving without ever feeling like a checklist of activations.

Execution

Guests stepped into a tunnel of shifting colour and light before the party had even properly begun, then drifted between tactile installations and playful, camera ready corners tucked around the venue. Canapés and a charcuterie spread kept the crowd mingling as a run of local DJs built the energy through the night, a live performance from Weish and dance wove through the crowd, and it all climbed toward a headline set from acclaimed international DJ Tennis to close out the night.
